Leonid Slutsky: “Preliminary election results show failure of the“ Maidan ”president’s policy”

Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs:

“Neither the pre-election provocation in the Kerch Strait followed by the next anti-Russian sanctions, nor the patronage of Western tutors did not help Poroshenko to win a convincing victory in the first round of the presidential elections in Ukraine. It is necessary to wait for conclusions regarding all possible violations during the voting. It cannot be ruled out that Poroshenko’s breakthrough in the second round is due solely to the administrative resource and various machinations. In any case, the preliminary results of the elections testify to the failure of the “Maidan” president’s policy, who came to power as a result of a coup d’état and leading a war with his own people. So far, the incumbent head of state, Poroshenko, gives way to almost half the votes of the comedian and showman Zelensky. Look at the final results.”
