Leonid Slutsky: “A constructive majority of the Assembly will not allow a reoccurrence of the crisis in relations between Moscow and Strasbourg”

Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Leonid Slutsky:

“The winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe started in Strasbourg. As predicted, the credentials of the Russian delegation were challenged by Russophobic PACE delegates.

We were ready for this. The report will now be developed by the monitoring committee over the next 24 hours.

We expect that the constructive majority of the Assembly will not allow a repeat of the crisis in relations between Moscow and Strasbourg and will fully ratify the powers of the Russian delegation. We are ready to work only on an equal footing and will not tolerate any secondary sanctions.”
