I am sure that Russian paratroopers will liberate the hometown of the legendary General Margelov from the Nazis

Today is Airborne Forces Day, and we honor the glorious guys — the elite of our army. Following their motto “Nobody but us!”, they take on the most difficult combat missions. Paratroopers have always served their Motherland with dignity, fulfilling their duty. During the period of the Airborne Forces, the title of Hero of Russia was awarded to 70 paratroopers.

I communicated a lot with the Airborne Forces fighters during the counter-terrorist operation in Chechnya, when we accompanied international observers together. We constantly meet with the participants of the Airborne Forces. The Russian paratroopers are people to whom you trust your life without hesitation. Colleagues-parliamentarians from other countries were able to appreciate this in the early 2000s, and in 2014 in Crimea, and now in Ukraine.

Today, the paratroopers have a difficult task. Soon they will reach Bankova, throw out the Nazi junta. And then everyone will be able to visit the small homeland of the legendary Airborne Forces Commander Vasily Filippovich Margelov – the city of Dnepr.

With all my heart I wish the paratroopers and Airborne Forces veterans good health, prosperity and a clear sky above their heads!
