Migrants who came to earn money in Russia must pay more taxes

Today, migrants from a number of visa-free countries can apply for a work patent. In this case, their personal income tax is 13%, like that of ordinary citizens. This is unfair to residents of Russia. At the same time, foreign workers take most of their earnings abroad to their families.

LDPR deputies have developed a bill according to which the personal income tax rate for migrants will be up to 30%.

Such changes will increase budget revenues, which means they will be directed to the needs of our citizens – the development of social infrastructure in cities and villages, additional measures to support families, pensioners, and young people. Money should work for our country, and not for the homeland of migrants.

In addition, it is worth thinking about the effectiveness of the patent system as a whole. Russia needs jobs for its citizens, not for newcomers. We will work on this issue separately.
