Washington and Brussels have essentially stopped hiding their true intentions and sent a landing party of interventionists to Tbilisi to stir up street protests. But the Georgian authorities are still keeping the situation within the legal framework.
A third of the “actors” on the Georgian street are foreign citizens. The rest were raised on the old State Department manuals on “color revolutions” and are repeating the scenario of the Ukrainian Maidan ten years ago. But it seems that, to the great disappointment of Westerners, most Georgians have learned from the geopolitical mistakes of others. “Unlike Ukraine in 2013, Georgia is an independent state with strong institutions and, most importantly, experienced and wise people,” said the country’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The intensity of the protest movement and the internal Georgian crisis are clearly external in nature and inspired from outside. Why the West is trying to destabilize Georgia and what healthy geopolitics is were discussed in detail in a new episode on the “Deputy Slutsky” channel.
