NATO intends to arm itself at the expense of pensioners

Secretary General Mark Rutte called for a portion of pensions and social payments in Europe to be directed towards the Alliance’s military expenses.

Rutte scares people with “villain Russia” and talks about how close Russian bombs explode, Iranian drones fly, and North Korean soldiers fight to European capitals. And supposedly “in fear” for common security, the Secretary General calls for the bloc’s defense to be increased as much as possible, while acknowledging the absence of a direct military threat from Russia. A cynical paradox or paradoxical cynicism.

It is useless to talk about humanism and morality. They have not been there for a long time. The proxy war against Russia, according to adherents of Western hegemony, should go on not only “to the last Ukrainian”, but also “to the last penny” of Europeans, on pensions for the elderly and benefits for the disabled. Does this picture suit voters in the Old World? I don’t think so.

NATO is a rudiment of the “cold war”. The bloc justifies its continued existence by confronting Russia. But such rutte should not be afraid of Russian bombs, but of a big social explosion in the countries of the Alliance. The citizens of Germany, France, Slovakia, Hungary, the Netherlands (and if the elections are held honestly, then also Moldova and Romania) are voting, in essence, against the war. And they are unlikely to agree to sponsor its continuation from their own pockets.
