Brussels fears being sidelined in Ukrainian settlement process

Statements by the head of European diplomacy Kallas about the impossibility of concluding an agreement without the EU’s participation are more like hysteria: “This war is going on in Europe, it concerns Ukraine, but also Europe, and in order to achieve real peace, Europe’s participation is necessary.”

So far, “Europe’s participation” has directly contributed only to the prolongation of the conflict and the growth of its victims. At the hands of Borrell and von der Leyen, billions of euros went into the furnace of war under slogans about the need to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. Having failed to achieve their goals on the battlefield, now the same Kallas are talking about “security”. Back in 2014, Russia called on the Old World to think about the anti-Russian course that was being imposed from across the ocean. We warned about the possibility of the collapse of the entire European security system. So what? Now Brussels has all the risks of being left almost alone with the insatiable Ukrainian fascist monster, demanding more and more.

The keys, it seems, are not in the hands of the EU and Zelensky. It is reported that the US President’s special envoy Keith Kellogg is flying to Europe for consultations, in order to then present options to Trump. If leaks in the Western media are to be believed, European partners will probably be urged to take on the main burden of aid to the Ukrainian regime. This is unlikely to please the right-wing and Eurosceptics, who are rapidly gaining popularity in European countries.

The real way to restore stability on the continent is the initiative of the Russian President to create a new architecture of Eurasian security, equal and indivisible. With the elimination of the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis and the recognition of territorial realities.
