The Munich Security Conference has shocked the Russophobic European elites and has become a test for Euro-Atlantic solidarity. This was stated on the air of the Russia-24 TV channel by the head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, the leader of the LDPR Leonid Slutsky.
“The current security conference in Munich has certainly become a shock for the Russophobic European elites and a test for the notorious Euro-Atlantic solidarity,” the parliamentarian noted.
Slutsky drew attention to the fact that the head of the conference, Christoph Heusgen, called its results Europe’s nightmare. “The harmonious anti-Russian chorus turned out to be out of tune and, in general, was disrupted, first of all, by the edifying speech of US Vice President J.D. Vance about the true principles of European democracy, about the true values of European civilization. It is curious that an American is teaching this to Europeans,” the head of the Duma committee added.
On February 16, Heusgen said that the speech of the American vice president at the Munich conference shows that Europe and the United States no longer share common values. On February 14, at the conference, Vance criticized the EU for censorship, including blocking social networks. The politician emphasized that Europe is “useless for the United States,” is afraid of its own voters, and needs a democratic mandate to do anything significant in the coming years.
