At a meeting with participants of the educational marathon “Knowledge. First” Russian President Vladimir Putin said: “Nationalism is the first stage to Nazism, it is the first step. Because nationalism is based not just on love for representatives of one’s own ethnic group, but on hatred for others. That is the essence of nationalism. Patriotism is a completely different matter. Loving your homeland does not mean hating others.”

The LDPR has been uniting the peoples of Russia under the banner of Russian patriotism for 35 years. We do not pit peoples against each other – we unite! We bind with the Russian language! We cement with an idea that inspires us to be a great power! Russian patriotism is the basis of national unity, not discord.
For us, patriotism is the country first and foremost! Patriotism is not slogans, but concrete actions. It is the protection of Russia’s interests, respect for its culture, history, and laws. It is the willingness to work, build, and serve for the sake of our Motherland, and not for the sake of foreign interests, corrupt and vile foreign funds.
We are patriots because we all call ourselves Russian. Russian is not only blood. It is self-awareness, choice, and responsibility. Today, tens of millions of people across the country call themselves Russian – not by passport, but by spirit. To be Russian means to be the master of your land!
Historically, Russians know how to stand up as a wall when the Motherland is in danger. And today, we, the LDPR, say: “Enough chaos, enough disintegration, enough pressure from outside! Russia will be strong because its citizens are strong and its people are united.”
Vladimir Zhirinovsky has been saying for decades: “We are for Russians, but not against other nations.” This is the principle of the LDPR. We are proud of our multinational country, where each nation contributes to the overall strength and greatness of Russia. But this house has a solid foundation – the Russian people. If you are a citizen of Russia, you are ours! But only by law. Only with respect for the country, its order and its people!
We speak honestly: “Russia is not a walk-through yard. Russia is a home for our own!”
Everyone should understand: being a citizen of a great country is an honor and a responsibility. And the LDPR will do everything to ensure that no one tramples on this honor and turns our land into an arena for foreign wars and conflicts!
Today, more than ever, Russia needs strength, order and respect for its people. Russia needs the LDPR! With the LDPR – to victory! With the LDPR – to a strong Russia!
