This scenario for the EU is predicted by the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico, who directly accused Brussels of aggressiveness and attempts to establish a dictatorship.
And it is unlikely that this is an emotional or subjective assessment. The EU, indeed, does not strive for a peaceful agenda; within the bloc there is censorship, suppression of freedom of opinion and speech, revanchism and support for the revival of Nazism. The newly minted Eurohawks and neo-Napoleons ignore the principles of mutual respect and non-interference, maniacally looking for external enemies in order to disguise their own incompetence, and sometimes – outright corruption.
Recent examples: elections in Romania, hysteria and direct bans on participation in the Victory Parade in Moscow with promises to punish leaders of sovereign countries, actual obstacles to negotiating efforts on the Ukrainian track… Eurocrats are pursuing a policy that is far from constructive, laying a huge mine under European unity.
It is natural that the number of sensible politicians in Europe is growing, who adequately perceive the emerging geopolitical reality and are ready to lag behind the national interests of their countries. And the future belongs to them.
