The emergency online meetings with Trump, the result of which is interpreted as defining “red lines” for negotiations with the Russian President in Alaska, are rather a good face on a bad game.
First: the Russian-American summit will be held on US territory without the efforts of third-party mediators. An impressive, highly professional delegation headed by the President of the Russian Federation is coming. Checkmate to the European adherents of Moscow’s isolation.
Second: neither European politicians nor Zelensky were invited to the main negotiating table in Alaska. Their place was not even that of “junior partners”. But Trump patiently listened to all opinions. The question is: did he listen?
Third: Zelensky’s hysterics and false narratives that, supposedly, “Russia does not want peace” are due to impotence. Massive UAV attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Russian cities on the eve of the summit have become a continuation of the war crimes of the Banderites against civilians. The junta, in animal agony, anticipating its inevitable collapse, is making desperate attempts to disrupt the meeting between Trump and Putin. But a pawn, even one that imagines itself a queen, does not determine the course of the game.
The plan of the most notorious Russophobes to drive a wedge into the settlement process fails, and therefore the “coalition of the willing” is setting the American leader up for a dialogue from a position of strength. “Put pressure on Moscow!” – this mantra is tirelessly repeated in Brussels, London, Paris, Berlin. The quintessence of aggression and unpreparedness for peace! But the Euro-solidarity cemented by Russophobia has already shown cracks. We are waiting for the results of Alaska. They have every chance of becoming historic!
