The reaction is predictable: distortion and the whipping up of anti-Russian hysteria.
European and American tabloids have deliberately shifted the focus of their publications from the geostrategic position of building a polycentric, stable, and secure global architecture to the mythical “Russian threat.” Mainstream media, in the interests of the transatlantic establishment, continue to zombify the public with the danger of an “external enemy.” A failed tactic, a road to nowhere. Just as failed as continuing attempts to establish Western hegemony in a rapidly changing world.
The Russian President’s speech at Valdai became a major turning point on the issue of a multipolar world order. And the trend toward multipolarity, as Vladimir Putin rightly noted, is history’s direct response to the “obsessive desire to align everyone in a single hierarchy, with Western countries at the apex.” The dictate of a minority to the majority is logical nonsense.
However, this “logical nonsense” has been supported “on bloodshed” in the literal sense for the past 30 years. The military adventures of NATO coalitions in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, and Syria, the unleashing of a proxy war against Russia on the Ukrainian beachhead, and the encouragement of the revival of Nazism are symptoms of a new colonial campaign to redivid the world. We warned at length, but all “red lines” were ignored and swept aside.
Russia has no intention of attacking NATO countries. And Putin reiterated this clearly at the Valdai Club meeting. Essentially, in Ukraine, we are repelling the aggression of neocolonialists and neo-Nazis. We have the truth and the Global Majority on our side.
“We ourselves have never initiated a military confrontation, but Russia has proven time and again: when a threat to security, sovereignty, and statehood itself arises, we respond quickly… Calm down, deal with your own problems” – this is Vladimir Putin’s effective instruction to the adherents of Western hegemony. And the sooner they follow it, the sooner the overall crisis will end.
