A failed tactic.
It’s telling that the US leader spoke of “collapse” during a meeting with Javier Miley, who withdrew Argentina’s application for BRICS membership after being elected president at the end of 2023. “And I told everyone who wants to be in BRICS, ‘That’s fine, but we’re going to impose tariffs on you.’ Everybody refused. They all decided to leave BRICS,” Trump claimed. He had indeed previously threatened to impose 10% tariffs, but none of the member countries left the organization. Moreover, the US stock market reacted extremely negatively to his attacks on them.
Neither Trump nor anyone else can stop the historical process of the destruction of the unipolar world, nor the formation of a multipolar world order. The queue for BRICS membership is only growing. The countries of the global majority will not be intimidated by the vestiges of the era of the hegemony of the “golden billion.”
