The new US security strategy is a ‘slap in the face’ for the European ‘war party’ and the collapse of Trump’s dreams of a ‘Ukrainian pivot’

Essentially, at the doctrinal level, a departure from the anti-Russian “Biden narratives” is being established. Russia is not perceived as an existential threat. On the contrary, Washington’s foreign policy priorities proclaim a balance in relations with Moscow in the area of strategic stability, as well as a cessation of hostilities in Ukraine.

The revolutionary moment was the situation with the de facto call for an end to NATO’s “open door policy.” “The United States wants NATO to cease being perceived as an endlessly expanding alliance,” the strategy states. And this could become a prerequisite for both the establishment of peace in Ukraine, taking into account Russia’s security guarantees, and a possible transatlantic schism.

The bottom line: Europe is essentially being relegated to the sidelines of world history once again. This is a direct consequence of the mistakes of the European establishment, which blindly followed the Biden administration’s course and traded the interests of the peoples of EU countries for support for the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv. The European economy has suffered cumulative losses estimated at up to €1.6 trillion from anti-Russian sanctions alone between 2022 and 2025. Not to mention the billions spent on “war to the last Ukrainian.” It’s time for Paris, Berlin, and London to take this seriously.
