We discussed the crisis in relations with Russia, which has developed due to the current EU leadership. This included the situation surrounding the freezing and attempted expropriation of Russian assets in the EU, the economic consequences of anti-Russian sanctions in European countries, and the militaristic rhetoric of the Brussels bureaucracy.
The European participants – sensible politicians from Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, Finland, Luxembourg, and several other countries – acknowledge the threat of a large-scale confrontation with Russia due to the Russophobic policies of the EU authorities. They speak of the need to restore dialogue and support the unfreezing of contacts with Russian MPs. We cannot name all of them because, as it turns out, their honest stance exposes these MEPs not only to the risk of losing their positions but even criminal prosecution.
For their part, they expressed support for parliamentary diplomacy efforts. However, they warned of the inevitability of a harsh response from Moscow to the plunder of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation’s gold and foreign exchange reserves if the European “war party” pushes through its thieving conspiracy at the Brussels summit, bypassing Belgium.
Special thanks to Fernand Kartheiser for his courage and commitment to peace and truth. Not everyone in the European Parliament is a rabid Russophobic. And judging by our meetings, the number of sensible, realistic politicians is growing.
