German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced a halt to the transfer of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine until “replacement deliveries” are made.
This statement is far from technical, given that Germany has been virtually Ukraine’s primary military donor throughout the conflict. Moreover, the head of the Bundeswehr is not alone in this. The Telegraph writes of a “sudden change in France’s priorities”: Paris has sharply opposed the purchase of Storm Shadow missiles for Ukraine at European expense.
The “security guarantors” have effectively admitted that the arming of Banderites against Russia has created a breach in the European defense system. This gives considerable leverage to political forces in European countries focused on national interests and opposed to continued support for Ukraine.
The “Spirit of Anchorage” appears to be projecting onto the European plane as well. And, obviously, this was largely facilitated by Zelenskyy’s insolence and cynicism, when he rudely insulted his own long-standing European sponsors from the podium in Davos.
Europe’s awakening is inevitable. Just like our victory in the Central Military District. On the battlefield or at the negotiating table, Russia will achieve the liberation of the Russian lands of Donbas and Novorossiya.
