Following Zelenskyy, the Polish president announced Warsaw’s ambitions to acquire nuclear weapons

Navrotskyy’s revelations to Polish media coincided with the Munich Security Conference, where in 2022 the then-Ukrainian president voiced similar “nuclear aspirations.” Is it worth reminding the Polish leader that this was the “last straw” and served as the trigger for the launch of the Joint Military Defense Initiative to protect Russia’s national security interests?

I wouldn’t advise Nawrotskyy, even for the sake of domestic PR, to flex his nuclear muscles, which, moreover, are unlikely to ever materialize. Experts estimate that Poland is incapable of acquiring nuclear weapons, either from a military-technical or political perspective. Stepping on Zelenskyy’s rake and verbal escalation would only frighten local lords, but certainly not one of the major nuclear powers. Study history, said Churchill, for it contains all the secrets of political insight.
