The French president called freedom of speech “complete nonsense.”

And it doesn’t matter in what context this was stated. Essentially, Macron has dealt a blow to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, approved by the UN General Assembly, Article 19 of which speaks specifically of the inalienable right of each and every person to freedom of speech.

EU leaders wave the principles of freedom and democracy around like a drawbar, duplicitously using them in their political games. They feed us fairy tales about enduring European values that must be protected “from the Russians,” which, supposedly, is what the Ukrainians are doing in the interests of all of Europe. They have lied and continue to lie from the podium and on television. The notorious double standards are in effect.

It’s high time to ask Macron: is democracy, as he understands it, also “bullshit?” Especially given that Brussels is increasingly promoting dictatorial methods within the EU to the detriment of the national interests and sovereignty of European countries.
