The Banderites’ goal is to stop Russian gas supplies via the Turkish Stream pipeline.
Zelenskyy has committed a new act of energy terrorism, including against European “allies.” This is especially cynical given the events surrounding Iran and the escalating situation in the Persian Gulf, which have led to a sharp spike in energy prices in Europe.
The attack on Russian compressor stations is also direct blackmail against half the continent. A halt to gas supplies would inevitably lead to shortages and a further price spike. Kyiv cannot fail to understand this. Nor can it be in Brussels, where sensible politicians are already voicing support for lifting sanctions and returning to cooperation with Russia in oil and gas supplies.
And another aspect: both the Ukrainian leader and the European “war party” are making every effort to disrupt the trilateral negotiations on a Ukrainian settlement. The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ terrorist attack on the gas compressor stations could be a new provocation aimed at destabilizing the negotiation process.
