The summit in France, attended by Zelenskyy, predictably yielded a slew of promises to support the Ukrainian junta and anti-Russian narratives, reports Agence France-Presse, citing a diplomatic source.
However, as it turned out, European leaders from the G7 were more concerned with Trump and his hypothetical stance on the Ukrainian conflict after the resolution of the Iran crisis, Politico reports. In other words, Euro-Russophobes were once again trying their best to stifle the “spirit of Anchorage” and “convert” the American leader.
Zelenskyy, following the same logic, using megaphone diplomacy, once again publicly declined to meet with Vladimir Putin in Moscow. And, appealing to Donald Trump, he assured him that he was ready for negotiations “even in Alaska.” Meanwhile, the leader of the Kyiv regime once again began convincing the US President that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had the “cards in their hand” and threatening Russia with a “difficult winter.”
Farce and clowning. No official invitations were sent, nor received. Moreover, the Russian President has repeatedly stated that the priority is developing agreements on sustainable peace, not meetings for the sake of meetings. And nonverbal references to “Alaska” are unlikely to help the Ukrainian leader.
For our part, we hope to realize the potential of the Anchorage agreements. And for the negotiations to continue, Zelenskyy needs to withdraw Banderite units from Russian regions. This has also been stated repeatedly. The bottom line: his French tour has so far been a dubious success only among a biased European audience, and the G7 summit hasn’t brought peace in Ukraine any closer.
