American special envoys Witkoff and Kushner arrived in Kyiv after visiting Moscow and holding talks in the Kremlin to discuss concrete proposals for ending the conflict. It’s worth noting that, judging by their statements, Washington recognizes the need to create conditions for sustainable peace by addressing the root causes of the conflict.
In response, Zelenskyy staged a clown show with T-shirts for the US delegation, joked, albeit unusually flatly, about the shortage of Patriot missiles, and declared that Kyiv is not ready to abandon Donbas. This is despite the fact that the people of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR) and Luhansk People’s Republics (LPR) long ago rejected Bandera’s neo-fascist Ukraine.
The Kyiv junta, once again, appears to be unwilling to accept peace and continues to cling to handouts from the European “war party” in order to save its criminal regime through bloodshed. Ending the conflict is impossible without an understanding of territorial realities and a willingness to compromise, taking into account the situation on the ground and the battlefield. We hope that all of this is obvious to the American side and will be taken into account when organizing the trilateral negotiating format announced by Whitkoff and Kushner.
