Leonid Slutsky met with Pierre Levy

Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky met with the new Ambassador of the French Republic to Russia Pierre Levy.

As the head of the Committee wrote on his Facebook page:

“We discussed a wide range of issues concerning, first of all, bilateral interaction in the parliamentary plane. The importance of resuming the work of the Large Russian-French Interparliamentary Commission was especially emphasized. Perhaps its meeting after a five-year break will take place this year. In general, we talked about the need for a serious and accelerated intensification of contacts across the entire spectrum of areas of work of the State Duma and the National Assembly of France.

Within the framework of the international agenda, we discussed the situation in Syria and Libya, and also agreed on further close cooperation.

Mr. Pierre Levy is a professional with a capital letter, a career diplomat with vast experience. I am confident that we will continue our constructive cooperation”.
