Leonid Slutsky: “Happy National Unity Day!”

Leonid Slutsky: “On this holiday for Russia, two news came from Kiev. A well-known Russian artist, parodist and TV presenter, that is, in a sense, the recent colleague of President Zelensky, Maxim Galkin, is recognized in Ukraine as a person who threatens the national security of the state. At the same time, another “bright personality”, a freelance adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Oleksiy Arestovich, said that Ukraine, together with foreign partners, had prepared a plan in case of a full-scale military conflict with Russia. This plan, according to him, provides not only defensive actions, but also a counteroffensive.

Many questions arise here. For example, what happens to Ukraine’s national security if it is threatened by Russian artists? Despite the fact that Ukrainian actors and singers feel great on the territory of Russia, which the current head of the Ukrainian state can confirm from his own experience. Such personal sanctions are simply absurd and stupid, not to mention that it is a vulgar manifestation of censorship. The Ukrainian Ministry of Culture simply carved itself as a unitary officer’s widow for Gogol, a genius of Russian literature, by the way, of Ukrainian origin in terms of modern geography.

I also wonder if the sanctions against Russian artists are part of the very plan that Arestovich announced? But if we put aside another “clowning” of Ukrainian politicians, the reality remains obvious to everyone: for the eighth year, the shelling of Donbass residents who disagree with the Russophobic bacchanalia in Kiev has not stopped. Ukraine must comply with the Minsk agreements and stop killing its own civilians in the southeast of the country, and not build useless plans for fictitious “wars”. But it seems that the still flaring internal Ukrainian conflict and mythical “Russian aggression” remain almost Zelensky’s last argument to justify his failures.

And all of you, dear friends, Happy National Unity Day! As long as we are united, we are invincible. On this day, Ukrainian colleagues would like to remind the quote of Winston Churchill: “Learn history, it contains all the secrets of political perspicacity.”
