Leonid Slutsky: “Western mainstream media are again trying to “pull” the agenda”

Leonid Slutsky: “Once again, the Western mainstream media are trying to “pull” the agenda. And today’s publication in the Financial Times about the talks between the leaders of Russia and France is a vivid example. The world is broadcasting about the alleged “agreement reached not to undertake new military initiatives and to conduct a broad dialogue on the deployment of Russian troops.” Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov has already denied this nonsense. But how is their thinking anyway: Moscow has repeatedly stated that there are no plans to invade Ukraine, but for some reason some anonymous sources should sound more authoritative and louder for the West …

In general, the effectiveness of the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron will show the further course of negotiations on Russian proposals for security guarantees. Both leaders regarded it as quite constructive. At the same time, Putin even noted that the ideas expressed by Macron in this area could form the basis for further joint steps. And here the phrase of the French leader that collective security should cover all countries, including Russia, was also very indicative.”
