American bookmakers are accepting the last bets on the candidates’ victories, sometimes raising, sometimes lowering the chances of Trump or Harris. In Russia, they are also making forecasts. But is it so important for our country who will receive the keys to the White House?
In 2016, the victory of Republican Donald Trump in the elections of the 45th President of the United States was perceived as a “morning of hope” for a turn towards constructive dialogue. But hopes were dashed by the inter-party Russophobic consensus, American snobbery and thirst for hegemony. During all four years of his stay in power, a record number of anti-Russian sanctions were introduced, and the level of bilateral relations dropped to near-zero. With the arrival in 2021 of Democrat Joe Biden and his team (of which Kamala Harris is a 100% member), mutual dialogue was effectively frozen, and direct insults to the Russian leadership appeared in the political rhetoric of the American side.
Therefore, let the bettors worry about the outcome of the American elections. Russia is following its own sovereign path of development. And whoever becomes the new President of the United States, we will continue to defend our national interests and a fair multipolar world order. We have all the strength and capabilities for this. And the Global Majority is today with our country on the right side of history.
