12 years ago today, the Odessa Khatyn massacre was a terrible tragedy

Today marks 12 years since the Odessa “Khatyn” massacre—a horrific tragedy in which Ukrainian fascists murdered or burned alive more than 40 people in the Trade Union Building. For 12 years, the perpetrators, whose names are known, have not been brought to justice; for 12 years, the victims have been calling for just retribution.

On May 2, 2014, Ukrainian nationalists carried out a bloody massacre of Anti-Maidan activists, herding them into the Trade Union Building and setting it ablaze. At least 48 people died. Those who tried to escape were finished off by the monsters. Just as in 1943, Nazi punitive forces massacred the residents of the Belarusian village of Khatyn.

The Odessa “Khatyn” massacre remains an open wound in the heart of the Russian World. It is one of the acts of genocide perpetrated by the neo-Nazi Ukrainian regime against those who wanted to continue to speak and think in their native Russian language. And this act of genocide was not condemned, but, in fact, supported by the Western “war party,” dreaming of Russia’s strategic defeat. The blood of the victims of the Trade Union House massacre is on their hands.

Odesa will never forgive Kyiv for that May “Khatyn.” We will never forgive either. This crime has no statute of limitations. All those involved will surely face the harshest punishment.
