It was on this day 300 years ago, by order of Emperor Peter I, by decree of the Governing Senate, the Russian Academy of Sciences was founded.
Thanks to Russian scientists, the periodic table was created, the first artificial earth satellite was launched into orbit, the first human flight into space was made, the first nuclear power plant was built, and many other great discoveries were made.
We will return the prestige and respect of the scientific profession! We need to change the idea that a researcher can only live with dignity abroad. Those who were ruining our science systematically eliminated the system of guarantees for scientists. This is a crime against the Motherland! In the nineties, we could see thousands of people with advanced degrees behind the counters. Talented youth fled either to the commercial sector or to Western universities, which bought up our intellectual elite by the hundreds. This happened and is happening because the support of scientists was unsystematic and selective. The LDPR will protect Russian scientists and solve the issue of “brain drain” abroad! We will do everything to ensure that every talented, educated person stays here and works for the good of their Motherland.
First of all, we will return salary supplements for the position of associate professor and professor, as well as for having an academic degree of Candidate of Sciences and Doctor of Sciences. A young university graduate, choosing science, must understand that his many years of work on his dissertation will pay off many times over.
Dear scientists, researchers and scientific workers! I cordially congratulate you on Russian Science Day! Thanks to your work and discoveries, we are moving forward, creating new opportunities for the development of the economy, medicine, ecology and other areas of life. I would especially like to congratulate the staff of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which is celebrating its 300th anniversary!
I wish you further success, inspiration and new discoveries!
