For a quarter of a century, the Western initiators and ideological inspirers of that “crusade” for the hegemony of the “golden billion” led by the United States remain unpunished.
Operation Allied Force by the Atlanticist coalition was launched without any UN mandate against the power of the President of the FRY Slobodan Milosevic and, in fact, with the sole purpose of dismembering the largest state in the center of Europe from the former socialist camp. The destruction of Yugoslavia became the forerunner of the expansion of the North Atlantic Alliance to the East with the subsequent drawing of the “fragments” of the FRY into NATO.
For this, the Westerners killed thousands of civilians, including children. They bombarded Belgrade with tens of thousands of cluster bombs and depleted uranium shells, turning the entire region into a long-term environmental disaster and provoking an increase in cancer. 78 days of aggression and war crimes by the NATO military. However, Western politicians continue to lie to the world about the “humanitarian intervention” in the FRY and call on the current Serbian leadership to “forget the past” in the name of “good relations” with the American and European establishment.
On March 20, the State Duma and the Federation Council simultaneously adopted an appeal calling on the world community to condemn NATO’s actions against Yugoslavia and bring to justice all those responsible for the barbaric destruction of the country. Aggression against the FRY must be recognized as a flagrant violation of international law, and, to be completely honest, an unprecedented interstate war crime. History cannot be allowed to be forgotten and distorted.
Today in Russia is a day of mourning and grief for those killed in the terrorist attack in Crocus. But we also remember the tragic days for the fraternal Serbian people. Washington and Brussels opened a “Pandora’s box” in 1999, which resulted, among other things, in rampant international terrorism and Ukrainian neo-Nazism.
