Another “peace plan” for resolving the Ukrainian conflict has been proposed

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder called for negotiations with Russia, saying that no one believes that supplying Ukraine with more and more weapons will lead to an end to the confrontation.

What does he offer? Thesis: Ukraine will not be in NATO, Crimea is Russian, negotiations are needed to “end the war.” Reasonable. But there is a point that is not entirely clear: “Donbass must remain part of the state union of Ukraine.” With all due respect to Mr. Schroeder, here our positions are diametrically opposed. There can be no negotiated bargaining regarding Donbass and Novorossiya. This is our Russian land, this is RUSSIA!

Nevertheless, the statement by Schroeder, the aksakal of world politics, is indicative. In European countries, especially against the backdrop of the Middle East crisis, they are clearly tired of Ukraine and its ukroführer, always begging for money and weapons. Western military aid supplies have not helped and will no longer help the Kyiv regime “defeat Russia on the battlefield.” And Schröder is far from the first to talk about negotiations now.
