As I promised in the morning to the residents of Irkutsk, whom I met at the gas station, I discussed the issue of gasoline prices with the governor. There are several reasons for such high prices. On the one hand, it is much more profitable to sell gasoline abroad because of the exchange rate. On the other hand, there is a shortage of fuel in the region.
On the deficit, of course, you need to check. We will send relevant requests to the FAS without delay. At the federal level, we will raise the issue and propose lowering domestic excises. The main thing is that prices are understandable for people.
As the residents suggested, there is a problem with overpricing at a number of gas stations. Unscrupulous entrepreneurs must be fought together. I propose to place stickers at such gas stations “Instances of underfilling of fuel have been identified”, “The price of gasoline is unreasonably high”. At the same time, this sanction must be made an administrative penalty and a fine should be imposed for the premature removal of stickers. This is the experience of other countries. I think it’s time to introduce it in Russia.
