At the request of Rossiyskaya Gazeta, he wrote a column about the NATO summit in Vilnius

The NATO summit, held in Vilnius on July 11-12, became a “summit of unfulfilled hopes” for Ukraine and clearly disappointed Zelensky. The Ukrainian regime has not received an invitation to the Alliance, and prospects for terms have not been outlined. The declared guarantees of the G7, polite words, hugs from the leaders of the countries of the bloc and the abolition of the so-called Action Plan for membership (in fact, only a formal reduction in the waiting time, but still in the NATO dressing room) is far from what Kiev was counting on. And even despite the acting past, Zelensky was poorly able to hide emotions close to despair.

What’s in the dry matter? The Alliance once again made it quite unambiguously clear: Ukraine is not a goal or an object of protection, but a means. A means of fighting in a hybrid war against Russia, which was officially identified by the same summit as the main threat to the security of the North Atlantic bloc. In fact, the Ukrainian guests were directly pointed to their place. No need to have illusions. The so-called “support” for the Zelensky regime from Washington and Brussels is exclusively and only in the interests of the “golden billion”. NATO is not a defensive (as it calls itself), but an offensive alliance to ensure the global dominance of the collective West led by the United States. By any means. And Ukraine is still nothing more than a pawn in this big geopolitical party. Western countries, turning a blind eye to the hotbed of Nazism they have created, will continue to arm and sponsor Kyiv in order to continue to fight against Russia at the hands of Ukrainians and on their territory.

The goal is to preserve the supervising “privileges” of the world gendarme. Washington and its satellites do not even try to camouflage their true intentions with “high ideals”, being unable to part with neo-colonial ambitions and accept the realities of a multipolar world. Therefore, traditional for events like the summit in Vilnius were the streams of lies and complete anti-historical nonsense that accompanied the aggressive line against Russia and accusations of our country being responsible for the crisis of the European security architecture. (As if we were inviting NATO to our borders). But perhaps the most revealing were the attacks against China with clearly marked hostility towards Beijing, including for the policy of strategic partnership with Moscow.

The summit in Lithuania, of course, is not about peace in Ukraine and not about security, it is about new dividing lines and poles. A civilizational struggle is underway for the contours of a multipolar world architecture, in which the United States, in order to preserve its “dictatorship” under the guise of defending democracy, is ready to walk along the edge of the abyss, dragging its allies into the abyss of conflict. And the leaders of the NATO member states again and in full demonstrated the ugly bestial grin of Russophobia.

But they will not force Russia to retreat. The truth is behind us.
