Back to the topic of the presidential elections in Turkey

Let me return to the topic of the presidential elections in Turkey. Recep Erdogan, who won them for the third time, has already been congratulated by most world leaders, including the countries of the “golden billion”.

The West had no reason not to recognize the obvious and convincing results of the election campaign, its high competitiveness and the unprecedented activity of the voting participants. Or – if you look at the root – you just had to put up with it, because it didn’t work out to shake up and destabilize the internal situation in order to bring a “convenient” candidate to power, although someone really wanted this. Opposition candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu admitted his defeat.

Meanwhile, the OSCE observers refused (!) to call the presidential elections in Turkey “fair and free”. The head of the OSCE PA delegation, Farah Karimi, said that the second round of voting took place in conditions “which did not always correspond to the holding of democratic elections.” What can I say when the “mote” interferes with them, but they don’t see the “log” in their own eyes – it’s worth remembering the enthusiastic conclusions of the OSCE mission about the 2020 US presidential election, where there was no talk of “transparency” of summing up, but Western observers for some reason it didn’t bother me.

Türkiye is a strategic partner of Russia. I am confident that our bilateral cooperation will only grow. Both in the political and economic planes, and in the humanitarian sphere, and along the parliamentary line.
