May 9 is a sacred date, personifying the heroism of our people. It reminds us of the price our fathers and grandfathers paid for Victory. Every Russian family cherishes the stories of personal courage and self-sacrifice of soldiers, officers, and home front workers.
We are not only proud to be the descendants of the victors. We also recognize the great responsibility we bear to the memory of their heroism. A memory we will not allow to be slandered or rewritten. A memory that the entire country defends today, supporting our soldiers in the SVO zone.
And today, as then, our country, protected by God, has been, is, and will be an impenetrable wall against Nazism and the forces of global evil. We will not allow those who raised these ideas on their banners to exact revenge on Russia, once again attempting to destroy Russian civilization, to commit outrage.
As during the Great Patriotic War, Russia today unites the forces of reason and peace against despotism, violence, and genocide. They stand against the humiliation of national and human dignity. Our country stands at the forefront of the struggle for a multipolar world order based on the UN Charter, for the free and equal development of all countries and peoples without exception, for the force of law, not the law of force.
Eternal glory to the generation that defeated Nazism! To the generation that liberated their homeland. To the generation whose fortitude and courage serve as our moral compass and help us move forward today in the name of a Great Russia!
