Distracting attention from domestic problems with state piracy in the Atlantic waters can only succeed in Hollywood comedies.
The Macrons, Starmers, Mertzes, and other “fomenters” of the supposed Russian threat are, in essence, politically bankrupt in their own countries. The opposition accuses the leader of the Fifth Republic of “showing off at sea” while doing nothing amid the massive unrest in France. According to Western media sources, replacements for Merz and Starmer are already being sought within their own political forces.
And this “club of political bankrupts” will only grow if the aggressive anti-Russian stance persists. Clearly, Europeans are tired of an anti-Russian Ukraine and are not prepared to spend on a war being forced upon them what they have so painstakingly saved for peacetime. The populations of European countries do not want a escalation with Russia. And it’s time for the leaders of the European three to finally understand this. Otherwise, their ratings, and indeed their careers, risk sinking like anchor to the bottom.
