Georgia has become another object of Western interference in the internal affairs of another state

From the American continent, Tbilisi was threatened with sanctions, from the European continent – a barrier on the way to the EU.

The reason is the consideration by the Georgian parliament of a draft law on foreign agents, similar, according to Tbilisi, to the one that has been in force in the US for decades. But, as they say, what is allowed to Jupiter is not allowed to the bull. At the end of his tenure as US State Department spokesman, Ned Price began threatening to impose sanctions on Georgia if the foreign agent initiative was passed. In turn, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that this law would alienate Georgia from Europe, prevent it from joining the European Union and, in general, “does not correspond to democratic values.”

Yes, the “democratic values” of the West today are based on three pillars – the dictates of the hegemon, hypocrisy and double standards. The Parliament of Georgia, representing the people of the country, showed independence and, without regard to Washington and Brussels, took the decision demanded by society, the main meaning of which is to protect independence and sovereignty, limit foreign influence, and prevent revolutionary upheavals. The opposition, understandably dissatisfied, took people to the streets, clearly demonstrating what foreign grants are used for, allegedly intended to develop NGOs and support “democratic” processes.

I will not be like Borrell and Price… It is up to the Georgian people themselves to decide what laws to live within their country . Not a single overseas talking head has the right to do this for him, just as no one can demand that a sovereign state sacrifice national interests.
