I am sure that the “Direct Line” of Russian President Vladimir Putin was closely watched in the West. And especially, as it turned out, in Brussels.

The puppet of the outgoing American administration, Zelensky, decided to divert attention to himself by organizing a parallel press conference on the sidelines of the European Council. But he seriously let down his expired “emotional intelligence”. Insults and rudeness are a sign of weakness and a deep personality crisis.

Vladimir Putin, on the contrary, confidently, clearly and calmly outlined Russia’s position. First: readiness for contacts with Trump (there is something to talk about). Second: negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict are possible without any preconditions based on the Istanbul agreements and based on the realities on the ground, but with legitimate representatives of Kyiv (the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, for example, until new presidential elections are held). Russia has achieved global military superiority and can demonstrate this even in the “technological duel of the 21st century”.

It is time for the Westerners and their proxy regime in Kyiv to seriously think about the consequences of their actions, and not continue to engage in criminal bravado, threatening global security. Russia is open to dialogue. Dialogue that is honest and equal, and not at all from a “weakened” position, as a foreign correspondent put it in the propaganda expression. Strength is in truth, and it is on our side.
