Independent candidate, Bucharest Mayor Nicusor Dan, wins Romania’s presidential election

After 100% of the ballots were processed, Dan received 53.60% of the votes, while his rival, the leader of the nationalist Alliance for the Unification of Romanians George Simion, received 46.40%.

The Romanian presidential campaign should be included in the manuals of Western “democratizers” as a separate case. It was not so much the Romanians themselves who fought for Dan, but the European establishment with its famous liberal dictatorship. We remember how in the first round on November 24, 2024, the largest number of votes was received by the nationally oriented Eurosceptic and NATO “anti-fan” Calin Georgescu. Naturally, Brussels was not satisfied with him. Georgescu was rudely removed from the election race, using hackneyed methods – accusations of foreign financing, hacker attacks and, of course, unproven interference by Russia.

But even after this, pro-European Dan lost significantly (almost by half) to Simion in the first round of the repeat elections on May 4, 2025, who was initially leading in the second round. Against this background, the Romanian Foreign Ministry hastened to declare signs of “Russian interference”, allegedly through fakes on Telegram. It went as far as calling for the blocking of groups of Romanian conservatives.

Let’s not imitate the vaunted European “democracies” and make assumptions about the honesty of the vote count. But, summing up, we can definitely say: Romania has become yet another country torn in two by Euro-Atlanticists and national patriots. The split in Romanian society has exposed a deep systemic crisis in the European Union as well.

As for relations with Russia, nothing will change, they will most likely remain at a low profile. Dan is completely focused on Brussels, and we should not expect a decrease in the degree of hostility towards our country.
