The International Affairs Committee with the participation of representatives of all Duma factions held a meeting today with deputies of the lower house of the Indian parliament. The focus is on the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation and countering terrorism.
On behalf of the entire State Duma, first of all, condolences were expressed in connection with the death of Indian citizens in South Kashmir. Moscow condemns any form of terrorism and calls for combating the terrorist threat in the world.
At the same time, we welcomed the de-escalation between India and Pakistan, speaking out in favor of maintaining the sustainable nature of normalization in the expectation of further restraint on the part of each side. Our country consistently calls for a diplomatic settlement, maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Of course, we also discussed expanding parliamentary ties. We are committed to further and most active cooperation in all areas, especially in matters of forming a fair multipolar world order.
