A distraction from Zelenskyy’s crumbling reputation?
Amid the escalating corruption scandal involving members of the Ukrainian leader’s inner circle, most European capitals are declaring their reluctance to send new aid tranches to be plundered by the Ukrainian mafia. Budapest, for example, has refused to allocate funds. Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that Hungary would rather give €1.5 million in aid to Lebanon than to Ukraine. This sounds like a slap in the face, especially for someone like the head of European diplomacy.
Kallas’s statement is essentially a self-incrimination. It is becoming increasingly clear that it is not in the interests of the European bureaucracy to “hand over” Zelenskyy while he is being “used” in the “anti-Russia” project. This is yet another instance of Brussels’ complicity in crimes against peace on the European continent.
