Leonid Slutsky: “Adviser to the head of the office of President Zelensky Aleksey Arestovich never ceases to amuse the public with his statements. This time he began to assert that Ukraine, they say, “got off the hook” of the Minsk agreements, having probably decided that it was “very successful” in polemics with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

But here I would like to remind Mr. Arestovich that the Minsk agreements are aimed precisely at preserving the territorial integrity of Ukraine, taking into account the observance of the rights of residents of the southeast of the country. And they have no other alternative in this regard. However, since February 2015, Kiev has been delaying in every possible way (if not bluntly sabotaging) the implementation of Minsk-2, despite calls, including from the locomotive countries of the European Union, where the new Ukrainian authorities are so desperately striving.

Arestovich’s materiel is clearly lame. And this is doubly sad, given his direct attitude to the Ukrainian delegation in the contact group.

Ukraine itself has long been “on the hook” with Western countries, remaining a country under external control in the “anti-Russia” project. “
