Leonid Slutsky: Biden once again made absolutely unacceptable remarks about Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling him a “war criminal”

Unfortunately, this is not the first time we hear boorish statements from Washington. But Biden’s words are especially blasphemous right now – against the background of the recent missile attack on Donetsk, which claimed the lives of more than 20 people, including children. War criminals are those who gave such orders and those who cover them!

But let’s leave the emotions, let’s get to the facts. In 1999, Biden, still a senator, practically flaunted that he proposed to bomb Belgrade, destroy bridges and seize oil. Moreover, Biden is one of the authors of the resolution calling for the bombing of Yugoslavia. Then the NATO coalition indiscriminately thrashed civilians and even foreign embassies!

But this was not enough for Biden. Speaking in the US Senate, he demanded “to send troops to the desert again” to overthrow the Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, as he allegedly possessed weapons of mass destruction. But what matters is when he talked about it. Not in 2003, not after the terrorist attacks of 2001, but back in 1998!

Of course, in 2002, Biden voted for the invasion of Iraq, but later changed his position to criticize the Republican Bush Jr. administration. A ruined country, killed and maimed Iraqis did not bother him. And no chemical weapons have been found in Iraq.

On September 14, 2001, Biden voted in favor of a joint congressional resolution authorizing the use of military force against those responsible for the 2001 attacks. 20 years later, President Biden decided to withdraw troops from Afghanistan, which turned into a humanitarian catastrophe. And, of course, let’s not forget that the conflict in Syria, when the United States generously supported the “moderate opposition”, that is, militants and extremists, broke out precisely under the Obama-Biden administration. This is already a separate dossier, which did not end tragically only thanks to the assistance provided by Russia to the legitimate Syrian government.

All these “democratization” operations in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya and Syria were accompanied by the death of civilians, attacks on villages and cities, and provocations. And who is the war criminal after that?

A very uncomfortable question for Washington. But we won’t stop talking about the facts. As President Vladimir Putin noted yesterday at a meeting on measures of socio-economic support for the regions, no matter what resources the “empire of lies” of the West possesses, “it is still powerless against truth and justice.”
