Leonid Slutsky called EU calls to stop buying grain from Russia “gross manipulation”

Ukraine does not care about world food security, said Leonid Slutsky, head of the LDPR faction, chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, commenting on the EU’s calls to stop buying grain from Russia.

Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture of Ukraine accused the Russian Federation of illegally summoning hundreds of thousands of grain from the country. The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry denied these statements. Later, the representative of the EU Foreign Service, Peter Stano, said that the EU calls on all countries of the world not to buy grain allegedly “stolen” from Ukraine from Russia.

According to the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, such statements by the West are gross manipulation. He recalled that it was the armed forces of Ukraine that “mined the coastal strip, thus blocking the exit of ships with grain from the ports.”

Russia, on the other hand, has been declaring safety corridors for ships for more than a month every day. Kyiv does not care much about world food security. The main thing is to maintain the image of the victim, which can be further exploited in the European arena, the parliamentarian wrote in his Telegram channel.

Leonid Slutsky recalled the recent words of Russian President Vladimir Putin about plans to increase grain exports by 2023 to 50 million tons. This year Russia intends to supply 37 million tons of grain.

And, believe me, it has nothing to do with Ukrainian and will not have anything to do with it. The European Union seems to be trying to declare Russian grain exports as “buying up stolen goods”, cynically keeping silent about proposals to empty all Ukrainian storage facilities in its favor, the LDPR leader summed up.
