Leonid Slutsky: “I am not a representative of an EU country, but I am ashamed of the European Parliament”

Chairman of the 7th State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky at a meeting with international observers, answering a question and a remark about the EP resolution on relations with the Russian Federation:

“I am not a representative of an EU country, but I am ashamed of the European Parliament, for what it has become. The latest resolution on relations with Russia is clearly biased and politicized. Appeals to the European authorities not to recognize the results of the elections to the State Duma, even before the start of the voting, do not stand up to criticism.

When such fabrications, which have nothing to do with common sense and real politics, lie on paper and become decisions of the European Parliament, I am ashamed of enlightened Europe, for having such a parliament in the 21st century. And it becomes even more embarrassing when international observers from almost 60 countries of the world, including European ones, do not find violations in the parliamentary elections in Russia, which allow them to question the results, state their holding in accordance with democratic standards, transparently and honestly. This is reality, and the resolutions of the EP are Russophobic fantasies. “
