Leonid Slutsky: LDPR is against the bill on the introduction of a single operator of digital outdoor advertising

Today we had a meeting with representatives of large companies working in the field of outdoor advertising. The topic is sick – clumsily dragged under the curtain of the spring session of the State Duma and adopted on July 15 in the first reading, the draft law on the creation of a single operator of digital advertising structures and announcements. Read – monopoly monster.

We listened to the opinion of the professional community and once again became convinced that the bill is lobbyist and, in fact, kills the entire industry. Up to 200,000 people may lose their jobs, and regional budgets may lose billions of rubles in taxes. And this is at a time of total pressure on the Russian economy from outside.

There is an attempt to artificially create an unnatural monopoly. This is “import substitution” on the contrary.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service just the day before expressed its negative attitude towards the draft law. I am sure that most of the subjects of the Russian Federation will also follow its example.

The deadline for submitting amendments to the bill was extended until 13 August. But there is nothing to “correct” there. You just need to take the courage, responsibility and reject this deadly initiative in the second reading. I call on all other parliamentary factions to share the position of the Liberal Democratic Party. It will be fair.
