On March 28, the head of the Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, met with the Chairman of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani, who is in Moscow on a working visit.
The parties discussed the development of Russian-Iraqi relations on the political, economic and humanitarian planes, including within the framework of mutually beneficial cooperation with the Kurdish Autonomous Region of Iraq.
L. Slutsky and B. Talabani exchanged views on current issues on the international agenda and its regional component, and agreed to continue further contacts.
From the Russian side, Zelimkhan Mutsoev, a member of the Committee on International Affairs, also took part in the meeting.
