Leonid Slutsky: “Poland has actively adopted the Washington tactics to absolve itself of responsibility for committed human rights violations”

Leonid Slutsky: “Poland has actively adopted the Washington tactics to absolve itself of responsibility for committed human rights violations. The head of the Polish government, Mateusz Morawiecki, at a press conference following a meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, said that the situation on the Belarusian-Polish border, the energy crisis in Europe and the situation in Ukraine and even in Moldova, they say, are related events and the activity is to blame for everything. Moscow and Minsk! And therefore, he argues, a wide range of sanctions is needed, both against Belarus and against Russia.

Best defense is attack. Apparently, Warsaw expects that its next loud Russophobic attacks will divert attention from the atrocities of the Polish border guards. But you can hardly forget the footage with the use of water cannons or poisonous gas against defenseless women and children. This is an unacceptable situation, in principle. Poland, like the entire European Union, must be aware of and bear responsibility for the migration crisis, the real cause of which was the actions of the “democratizers” from the Far West in the Middle East and North Africa.

Within the framework of the meeting of the PACE Standing Committee in Rome, the Russian delegation has already raised this topic. We believe that it is the countries of the European Union, which are also members of the Council of Europe, that should make real efforts to end the crisis, and not make Belarus blameless without guilt. We will continue discussions in this direction at other inter-parliamentary platforms.”
