The International Affairs Committee will propose to the State Duma to denounce the Open Skies Treaty as soon as possible, possibly next week. The situation around DON is such that there is no doubt about the unconditional support by the parliament of the proposal of the President of the Russian Federation on its denunciation.
All procedures for withdrawing from the Treaty on time must be completed by the end of May, we will definitely not delay here.
For Russia, this will become a forced decision against the background of the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the Treaty and the absence of legal guarantees from European partners that these flights of missions of the open skies over Russian territory will not be provided to the American side. We have repeatedly warned about our position. It is a great pity that, through the fault of the collective West, the remnants of trust and transparency in such an important issue as international security are being destroyed.
