Leonid Slutsky: “The decision to expel a Russian diplomat from Norway may be the result of a general Russophobic hysteria, actively cultivated in the West”

Chairman of the International Affairs Committee Leonid Slutsky:

“The decision to expel the Russian diplomat from Norway was the continuation of a series of diplomatic scandals that have been shaking a number of European countries over the past few months. Everywhere the same handwriting – unsubstantiated accusations and loud announcements of persona non grata with preliminary leaks in the media. All this may be a consequence of the general Russophobic hysteria, actively cultivated in the West.

In this particular case, I am sure that Russia will give an adequate answer on the principles of reciprocity. Of course, all this does not contribute to the improvement of Russian-Norwegian relations, creates a negative background for interstate interaction. We can only regret it.”
