Leonid Slutsky: “The European Parliament called for an investigation against Gazprom over gas prices”

Sorry for the non-parliamentary, but the anti-Russian political “insanity is growing stronger.” It was raining or snowing, gas prices suddenly went up – Moscow is always to blame for the European Parliament.

A group of about 40 European deputies (mainly from the Baltic countries and Poland) suddenly felt that the “insidious hand” of “Gazprom” was turning up the handle of gas prices in Europe. And on this basis, they call on the European Commission to investigate this, if I may say so, the situation from the point of view of EU antitrust rules.

Apparently, in this way, the Young Europeans, in their Russophobic frenzy, continue to wage an unequal battle with Nord Stream 2, refusing to recognize the purely economic nature of the project. However, the politicization of the pipeline launch issues, artificial delays in this process can also be one of the factors of turbulence in European energy markets when global demand, weather conditions and a decrease in production opportunities in the countries of the Old World coincide. It is a pity that this does not occur to the European deputies, and they prefer to continue their “witch hunt”. And, really, in vain.
