Leonid Slutsky: “The joint statement of the leaders of Russia, France and the United States on Nagorno-Karabakh should be heard in Baku and Yerevan”

Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs:

“The joint statement of the leaders of Russia, France and the United States on Nagorno-Karabakh should be heard in Baku and Yerevan. The most important thing now for the entire world community is to achieve a ceasefire in the zone of the Armenian-Azerbaijani confrontation. All parties should heed the call of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and return to the negotiating table. There is no military solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Otherwise, the fire in Transcaucasia could spread far beyond the region.

The State Duma deputies confirm their readiness to come out with a mediating mission to return to the political and diplomatic settlement of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.”
